This is a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Classic, model MIII - which were only made between 90-92 (so I understand). It's a traditional Les Paul Classic, but with 2 humbuckers AND a single-coil pickup in the middle - giving you a bigger palate of sounds than traditional dual humbuckers alone. It has a 5-way switch like a strat or tele would, and also volume/tone controls.
IT HAS MANY UPGRADES! NOT STOCK! STILL AMAZING!
First off - it has an amazing 2tek bridge (cost previous owner $600 to install!), professionally installed by Mike Lull Guitars up in Seattle (home to Pearl Jam and many top artists). It's a string-through body bridge (similar to some strat designs), which gives the guitar amazing sustain and tone. I've A/B'ed it next to LP studios and standards, and this thing sings. It's got Grover tuners (also from Mike Lull) - and this thing stays in tune better than any Gibson I've ever played. It's sat for weeks unplayed, and is still in tune when I pick it up. And It's got Seymour Duncan pickups (not sure the model, sorry) - but they sound awesome.
THE CATCH?
Well, the guitar isn't mint - obviously. For folks that want a straight-from-Guitar-Center Gibson, this isn't your guitar. For folks that want something that plays and sounds amazing, is unique, and is solidly built, then this is for you. Other issues with the guitar:
-It's got a little belt rash on the back. Nothing massive, but there's a 3" oval where the finish is worn away.
-Despite having the single coil - the previous owner rewired the guitar to be a traditional LP - with just the 2 humbuckers currently wired, and the 5-way switch replaced with a 3-way switch. I've never been a serious player, so what I had worked great for me. But it's easy to rewire if you wanted the versatility....
I'm not interested in low-ballers, international orders, or wire money scams. Please be serious. Don't try to nit-pick me on the guitar - it's not mint, it's not perfect, but it sounds and plays awesome, and that's why it's less than a grand.
