The Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is attacking the great music clubs of SF. They have been writing citations for small and apparently made-up rules. If this is allowed to continue it will result in these venues being forced to change into restaurants (which will obviously not work out well in their favor ultimately ending in the venue going out of business) or the venues will need to legally become 21+ Do we really need to keep fighting for all-ages venues? I guess so. Please go to www.slims-sf.com/abcupdate.html for a great list of informational sites that Slims / Great American have supplied. and don't forget to go to the upcoming awesome shows at some of these attacked venues: 11/13 Pinback @ Bottom of the Hill 11/15 Helms Alee & Earthless @ Bottom of the Hill 11/21 Municipal Waste @ Great American Music Hall 12/02 Baroness & Earthless @ Bottom of the Hill 12/09 Tristeza @ Bottom of the Hill 12/12 Grayceon @ Bottom of the Hill Fuck it, look at the calendars yourself! I don't know about you, but I want to be able to keep seeing these bands come through!

Age restricted shows are absolute horseshit.

so I was thinking about this for a while: the reason these "restaurants" are having legal trouble is because they don't sell a proper percentage of food
what about if they raised the price of every ticket sold at the door by 50ยข or so and you get a voucher for a free small order of fries or something?
It would cover their costs and it would inspire more non alcoholic drink sales and maybe even more food sales. I know at the countless shows I went to at these venues before I was 21 I think I must have bought food once at Slim's and that's it.

i heard about this a while back and it's bullshit. there's no way alcohol sales and food sales will ever be even at these places to maintain their license agreements. ABC? more like AB-SUX.

ABC? more like AB-SUX. that's what it really comes down to. of course, they really should just start selling $1 tacos. Anyway, if you do go to any shows at these venues you can purchase t-shirts for $20 to support the cause. I'll be pickin mine up at Pinback fo sho.
